2001 VW Beetle 1.9 TDI oil change instructions

This document will guide you how to change the oil and the new filer Beetel VW TDI engines with 1.9. all pictures in this document were taken from the 2001 VW new beetle with automatic transmissions, if you have a WV golfs or Jettas, it might have slighty different from the images. Materials that you want to make this procedure are: VW approved oil rags or paper towels. Latex gloves or similar gloves, oil filter (it must include two o rings), torque wrench to tighten the drain plug, small screwdriver for engine cover caps, oil drain Pan (the need for oil coming), etc. Here is the step-by-step instructions: by car on ramps, crawl under or slide below if you have a creeper and to remove all torx screws that hold the belly pan. With removed belly pan I usually push it back so that it is under the front seats. Now pop the hood, if you have coverage of the engine must be removed. Use a small screwdriver and remove the circular capitals. Beetles have only two of them. Golfs and Jettas are 3 of them. With 10 mm socket remove nuts in the cover. Notice the green circles) in the picture below. Beetles owners, use 10 mm wrench and loosen the nut at the rear of the engine cover. (Note: it may already be loosen as most people/mechanics originally loosen it and leave it alone. If you cannot remove the cover after the abolition of the two 10 mm nuts then you need to loosen it.) Remove the cover. Beetles owners, use 10 mm wrench and loosen the nut at the rear of the engine cover. Jetta and golf course owners, holding a black covered with cloth tubes near the rear nut clip. Unclip the tubing. Remove the cover.
